Running: strength, conditioning, and running form

 

Organised by Herne Hill Harriers and Tooting Run Club in association with King's College London, this online talk is aimed at middle and long distance athletes, their coaches and parents, and those with an interest in human physiology. The talk will be followed by an opportunity to ask our speakers questions.

Women's Health & Nutrition Event

We hosted our first online event jointly with Herne Hill Harriers on Thursday 9 February for all female athletes which will include two talks and Q&A sessions from experts in the field of sports nutrition and women's health and wellness related to sport. 

 

Guest speakers included Esther Goldsmith from Orreco & FitrWoman, who spoke on 'Unlocking Female Potential' in relation to hormones and the menstrual cycle and Fran Baldwin on 'Food and Fluids to Help Fuel and Recover from your Running' relating to sports nutrition.

 

Instant Physio Running Seminar

Tooting Run Club is proud to present this free in-person seminar led by Instant Physio, which is aimed at passionate runners to help them understand the human body better. It will particularly be of interest to those wanting to know how to reduce the risk of injury during marathon season.

 

The seminar will feature a number of experts on running injury and will cover:

  • How you can reduce your risk injury by 85%" - with Ed Thompson, Founder of Instant Physio
  • Common injuries in marathon runners - with Guest Speaker, Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine
  • Unexpected reasons to get injured - with James Siddle, Chartered Physios at Instant Physio
  • Live running assessment - with Guest Speaker
  • Live Q & A with all the speaker

The event will take place on Tuesday 6th February 2024.
