Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

What is Tooting Run Club (TRC)?

TRC is a 100% volunteer-led, free community running club and UK-registered charity, making inclusive physical activity accessible to all adults. Founded in 2022, we support wellbeing, confidence, and connection, with a focus on women and underrepresented groups. Our motto, Move, Connect, Belong, reflects our mission, and we’ve been recognised with major awards including England Athletics’ National Award for Community Project of the Year 2022, and the London Region Club of the Year 2024.

How do I join?

We don’t operate a membership model, so there’s no formal joining process or membership forms to complete at TRC. You will, however, need an Eventbrite ticket for each session you wish to attend. Simply head to the Tooting Run Club page on Eventbrite, book a ticket, turn up on the day and enjoy. We offer a range of sessions, and you’re welcome to attend as many or as few as you like. Just make sure you book a ticket and check in on arrival.

How much does it cost?

Nothing! Yes, TRC's completely free, thanks to grants, crowdfunding and our amazing volunteers. We’re here to remove barriers and help make movement free and accessible to everyone.

What sessions do you organise?

A typical week looks like this:

  • Monday: Track session
  • Tuesday: Yoga
  • Wednesday: Social Run and Couch to 5K
  • Thursday: Strength and Conditioning

We also run monthly extras, including long runs, parkrun tourism, a walking group, dog friendly runs and fun socials. Check out the Events page for more details

Do you cater for complete beginners?

Absolutely. All paces and faces are welcome. Our Couch to 5K, social runs and track sessions are beginner friendly, with groups split by pace. These sessions are ideal if you’re new to running or returning after a break.

When are tickets for the Monday Track sessions released?

Tickets for all weekly sessions are released on Eventbrite on Fridays at 10am. Tickets for other sessions do not follow a strict release schedule, so we recommend following us on Eventbrite to stay updated, especially for one off sessions with limited spaces.

I signed up, but I can no longer attend, how do I cancel my place?

Log into your Eventbrite profile, go to “Tickets”, select the session you need to cancel and click “Cancel Order”. Please cancel if you’re no longer attending as this frees up your place for someone else.

Eventbrite says the session is fully booked, can I just turn up?

Unfortunately not. All attendees must have a valid Eventbrite ticket which is scanned on arrival. This helps keep sessions safe and within capacity. If a session is sold out, please check back later in case spaces open up due to cancellations.

I booked two tickets to bring a friend with me, but their ticket was cancelled - why?

You’re welcome to book a ticket on behalf of a friend, but each ticket must be in the name of the person attending. If we spot duplicate names, we assume this was an error and cancel the extra ticket to free up space for others.

Do you have a bag drop?

Yes. For most sessions we meet at Tooting Athletics Track, where you can leave belongings in the registration hut at your own risk. Lockers are also available in the changing rooms and require a 20p coin. We recommend using the lockers for valuables.
